Artistic freedom and democracy – contrary, compatible, necessary?
where: digital (zoom)
when: 2.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m
Freedom of art and democracy: what a start to the new workshop year. Nathalie Senf is a singer, singing teacher, ensemble member, coach, theater teacher – and she works in political education. Her adopted home of Zwickau confronted her with the personal, cultural and political challenge between freedom of art and democracy. She faced the questions of
- how does democracy need artistic freedom or vice versa?
- Which anti-democratic forces are threatening the art and culture scene?
- How is this defending itself so far?
In the January workshop, she will explain her answers to us, supported by „The Art of Democracy“ (KuPoGe and Progressives Zentrum) and policy papers on right-wing structures.
After that, as always, there will be time for your questions. We would like to see a colorful, controversial, and respectful discussion on this topic in particular.
Please register at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 13th at the latest with the subject: „artistic freedom in democracy“
The zoom link will be sent via email on January 14th.
